drew a background, then some details on the eyes and basic paint down to block in tones

took the background away while I worked on his hair.

this was the layer under the main drawing. Pink to solidify the color in his face and some hair that was peeking out from behind.

changed the color of the background a bit

I really dig drawing beards and messy hair. Fur coats on the other hand...
